Bennington Tutorial Center
Students in The Tutorial Center's Bridge to College Progam

Arlington Area Child Care Center, Inc.
Affordable, quality early care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. After school and vacation care for 6-12 year olds. Day camp in the summer. Carol Barbierri, Director: 802-375-6039.

Girl Scouts, Vermont Council
Girls ages 5-17 in every community in Bennington County, build character and skills for success in the real world. Through troops, sports programs, and afterschool initiatives they develop strong values, social conscience and conviction to increase their potential and self-worth. Girl Scouts. Hospice of Bennington County
Physical and emotional support to the terminally ill and their families. Individual and group bereavement counseling are also available. All services are free of charge. Amy Barber-Thomas, Director: 802-447-0307.

Project Against Violent Encounters
Services to more than 600 survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault annually. Included are: 24-hour hotline, safe homes, transitional housing, court advocacy, supervised visitation, Youth Education programs, information and referrals. Joan Sakalas, Director: 802-442-2370.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
Opportunities for seniors 55 years and over to stay active, by providing needed community services countywide. There is a volunteer center for those under 55. Pat Palencsar, Director: 802-447- 1545, www.arcgmc.org.

Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging
Provides assistance to older Vermonters and their families with information, case management, and consideration of options which promote quality of life and support independent living. Diane Novak, Executive Director: 802-786-5990; 1-800-287-3221, www.svcoa.org.

Sunrise Family Resource Center
Strengthening families through education and support services, infant care and early education, and playgroups. Linda Dean-Farrar, Director: 802-442-6934.

The Tutorial Center
Educational services to people of all ages throughout the County. Adult basic education, GED/Adult High School Diploma prep, Bridge-to-College, tutorial services, family literacy, English as a second language, and GED Testing. Jack Glade, Director: 802-447-0111, www.tutorialcenter.org.

Vermont Center for Independent Living
Increasing opportunities for people with disabilities and deaf people to participate in community life, exercise their human and civil rights, and access resources/options for independent living. Deborah Lisi-Baker, Director: 802-229-0501, 1-800-639-1522, www.vcil.org.

The Community Response Fund
A fund to serve both United Way agencies and other qualified human service groups to meet agency and community needs not covered by The United Way allocation process.
